History of Worthy Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Robison

Here is what the
history of Worthy Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Robison Bridges states about
their marriage:

Being fatherless, Sarah lived with her brother Henry and his wife. Her older
sister Rosette had married Jedediah Grant, father of Heber J. Grant, and Sarah
also spent some time with them. She later came to Fillmore to live with her
sister Julie, wife of John Webb. John had a brother Eddie Webb, who wanted
Sarah as a plural wife; he purchased a ring and some white material which he
had Harriet Payne make into a wedding dress for Sarah, but Sarah threw the ring
in to the fireplace and refused to marry Eddie, as she was only thirteen years
old and Eddie was much too old for her. Her sister Julie wanted her to get married,
so she locked her in a room with Eddie, to see if he could talk Sarah into
marrying him. Sarah refused as she was in love with Worthy Bridges, son of
William E. Bridges and Terressa Moss Bridges;

Worthy had a brother Robert, and a half sister, Louise Chamberlain, and half
brother Charles Chamberlain.

One day as Sarah Elizabeth was passing the Bridges home, Worthy called to her
to come in the house. They had heard about Eddie Webb, and had prepared to have
Sarah and Worthy get married that morning in 1860. After the ceremony Sarah
went on to school. It was three years before their first child was born,
however Sarah was only sixteen years old when she became a mother. After having
four boys, and losing the fourth one with scarlet fever, Sarah and Worthy moved
to Corn Creek. ~from "Stephen D. Robison" Feb 2006
